If you like Kelly Clarkson hit songs, you'll love Maxine Soakai's muisc!

It’s been a busy month for me. I've been working on a Christmas album and setting up my studio for videos all along with all the work load of life.  I love Christmas time; it brings back great memories of my childhood, I can still smell my mom’s lemon bars and braided breads, she has always been an amazing cook.  I can also hear my sister jamming out on her keyboard to songs she wrote throughout the year.  As kids, my sister and I would sing all night until morning, my relatives would come over with food and camp out on the living room floor and listen to my sister and I sing all kinds of songs, we knew how to rock a house at a young age. I sure do miss those days!

Christmas time triggers so many memories that inspire me to write music. The melodies and lyrics always come easy at this time of year and I feel myself wanting to record more.  As an artist I hope I can pass on these great memories through my music, and help others feel and remember their own good memories.  It’s been a gift to re-trigger memories through my music. I often get emails from others saying how much this song meant to them, or how they can relate to a specific song.

Music has truly blessed my life and I thank The One above who blessed me with it.  It seems fitting that most of my best songs I've wrote have come to me during the holiday that we remember Christ. May we always remember Christ in everything we do!

Happy Holiday! May the season bring you great joy and great music!

If you like David Archuletas download Crush; you’ll love Maxine Soakais Music!!

I've been working on my studio this week; I'm planning on many YouTube’s and singles to be released in 2014.  Life gets so busy with family, school and music, I find myself losing sleep in order to do what I love.

Music is more of an outlet for me then it is a job. I've always loved collaborating and producing music with others but now I have an opportunity to create my own little videos, interviews, and single release parties.

I'm grateful for music and the opportunities it's brought to my life, along with the people I've been able to associate with. The coolest thing about music is that it brings all different types of people together. I enjoy meeting people from all different walks of life and this year I'll be able to share that with you.

Alot of damage can be done with a white wall and some speakers! :)

If you haven't heard my music please visit MaxineSoakai.com and get a free download of 'Stand in the Rain'. Also stay tuned for upcoming events, new releases and online shows.

Ever since I've discovered Instagram I love posting! I also love following other people. I've found a lot of local fashion Instagram's and a lot of musicians that have interesting products and lives! One person I follow is a good friend of my family, she's beautiful, and she has kids and a body that's flawless. I also found some other friends that sell clothing and have the best taste is fashion. It's interesting to find local societies that throw local parties and events that talk about music, fashion and books.  Their lives look magical, they grace every picture and followers comment with Ahh!

As I was following these amazing posts I came across this lady named Stephanie Nielson. Stephanie was in a plane crash with her husband who was flying the plane. She was severely burnt and suffers from severe burns on her body; although her husband suffered from burns as well, he didn't have as negative effects as she did.  As I read her blog, an extreme amount of love came over me, she has five beautiful kids, she has amazing style, and she loves God and loves being a mother. Her husband loves her despite what the plane crash has done to her body.  As I read her blog I heard a voice that said "she is the real deal! She is beautiful beyond measure; you’re blessed to know this!"  All the sudden those other posts I followed didn't seem impressive anymore, Stephanie is the real deal, she didn't let her accident take over her life and fill her with depression, she rises above all the blank stares when others see her, her heart overpowers her opposition.  Most of us carry our struggles on the inside, she carries hers on the outside but her spirit shines through her wounds. She is clearly beautiful!

I found myself wanting to be more like her; she values the most important calling as a woman and does it with grace.  I'm currently writing a song about Stephanie Nielson because she inspires me to be better. Tonight's been crazy windy! I didn't even leave my house because I was afraid my car was going to blow over (figurative speaking). So I decided to stay home and chill for awhile while my family was out and about.  I came across a video my friend posted on facebook where this guy who lives in my area does videos every week and has a large following, he teamed up with some business owners who decided they would pay for people's groceries.  It was touching! It was a fresh reminder of what life is truly about.

As a entertainer I love the entertainment industry. I'm not opposed to anything that makes people better, or helps pass time.  I love watching reality shows, following blogs, tapping into the fashion channel, or seeing what's hot and what's not, but sometimes we get so caught up in reality shows, or fashion blogs and we forget what's real.  I loved watching this YouTube because it was a wake up call that life is not about "keeping up", it's about creating special moments for people. So often I find myself looking for ways to improve myself or rejuvenate my spirit that I forget to live. A man once told me "learning to live is learning to love, and learning to love is learning to live for others."

Living for others doesn't mean to give people everything they need, it means helping other people with small deeds that might have been hard for them, but is easy for us.  True service doesn't call when we are available, it calls when were usually busy. Time is valuable, but kindness is the essence of greatness.  The video I watched reminds me a of a song I wrote called 'Kingdom'. I like to sing about helping others and just doing what's right. Give it a listen here on my website MaxineSoakai.com

And if you haven't seen the video I'm taking about, check it out!

Ok, so today I was in my sports conditioning class (sweating like theirs no tomorrow) when a song came on that triggered my mind, this song enticed me to work a little less and shorten my range of motion. Could this really be!? Could music really have an effect on my body!?  Obviously it does, whether we notice it or not. It brought me back to a belief I have always had: music must be motivating, feed the soul no matter what a person's doing, the tempo of the song, and what emotion it entices.  Truthfully, dirty music entices dirty thoughts that have no positive effects on the soul, and of course our "famous" society focuses on music that does exactly that.

For those who love real music, we all know that music must push us to better than we are, it must take us down memory lane and helps us keep to our roots.  Music must help us through hard times and get us through those days that seem impossible. Music must inspire our souls when are bodies can no longer go on.

In defense of music, fame and fortune has killed real music that helped us live! My goal in life is to find real music that's good and that helps me feel again. I want to find music artists that create works of art, not "money making songs that only entertain us rather than effect us. I'm a lover of music, and artists as well. I want to create songs that others want to put on repeat, and hopefully I can take real life experiences and inspire others to feel again.

Here's a song that I wrote with a good friend of mine called 'Sailing'. This song could fit any person's dreams, hopes and wishes.  Give it a listen!
